Yesterday My House shook

A terrifying wake-up call today. I was sitting at my laptop working when a massive blast shook my entire house. For a few minutes, I had no idea what happened—until the news broke. Two lives were lost and two others were injured just down the road because of explosives stored in a rented house for Vishu.

It’s time we stop treating these "celebrations" so lightly. Storing explosives in residential areas is a disaster waiting to happen.

  • Accountability: The Panchayat and local police must strictly monitor and force these activities into remote, uninhabited areas.

  • The Future: It’s time to consider a ban on traditional fireworks. With so many eco-friendly, electronic alternatives available today, we shouldn't have to risk our lives for a few minutes of light.

Safety should come before tradition. Stay safe, everyone.
